YSRCP slams coalition on conduct of polls

Chilakuripeta, Nov 2: YSRCP has condemned the coalition government for its conducting the elections in the most undemocratic manner with the fear of failures to honour its poll promises and has been resorting to manipulative politics.

Speaking to media here on Monday, former Minister Vidadala Rajini said it was an institutional capture of the election process right from nominations to the polling, with officials siding with the ruling coalition and targeting the Opposition YSRCP.

There has been a modus operandi which was worked out across the State right from the release of election schedule which kicked off the intimidation of Opposition candidates and prevented them filing nomination papers.

The papers were torn in presence of officials, but no action was taken while YSRCP candidates and active leaders were haunted and threatened with foisting fake cases

There was highhandedness in the scrutiny and coercion for withdrawals and our cadre braved. All the agents were prevented from entering the booths and were beaten up, when elections are held in such an atmosphere, democracy has lost its purpose and ruling coalition's boasts have no moral support, she said.

There was booth capturing and rigging in all places, and it is the Red Book constitution that has run the elections
