*YSRCP struggle secures RDT FCRA restoration*

Tadepalli, March 24: YSRCP leaders stated that their sustained public movement has resulted in the Central Government restoring the FCRA registration of the Rural Development Trust (RDT), enabling the organisation to resume its services in drought-hit Anantapur district. District YSRCP President Ananta Venkatarami Reddy, former minister Sake Sailajanath, and former MP Talari Rangaiah expressed happiness over the development, asserting that the outcome is a direct result of people’s struggle led under the guidance of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They criticised Chandrababu and Lokesh for attempting to claim credit for the restoration despite not participating in any protest.
YSRCP leaders explained that RDT has been a lifeline for Anantapur, providing critical support in groundwater development and welfare of marginalised communities. The suspension of FCRA renewal on April 21, 2025, led to freezing of funds and disruption of services, severely affecting the district. In response, a large-scale agitation was launched on the directions of YS Jagan, including bike rallies, a 19-day padayatra led by former MP Talari Rangaiah, protests, and a massive one lakh postcard campaign addressed to the Prime Minister. Despite police restrictions, the movement continued with strong public participation, eventually building pressure on the Centre.
Leaders highlighted that representations were also submitted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and protests were carried out in Delhi and Parliament, which collectively contributed to the restoration of FCRA. They termed the decision as a victory of democratic and peaceful public struggle, while condemning the coalition leaders for attempting credit appropriation without any involvement. YSRCP leaders reiterated that the party will continue to stand by RDT and ensure that such disruptions do not recur, affirming their commitment to fight for people’s causes in the future.
