Speaking to reporters here on Thursday party leader Konda Raghava Reddy said:’ the government cannot take full credit on the irrigation front as it was YSR’s foresight which has been yielding fruits now.

The state has been proudly telling that it would release water for 30.90 lakh acres for Rabi but what happened in the khariff should also be taken into account.

Though there was a scope to provide loans worth Rs 18,070 crore to farmers only Rs 8,060 crores were sanctioned and farmers could not get the full benefits and their loans were not waived in full.

Agriculture operations were taken up in only 45 % of the estimated area, there was no input subsidy and no check on the spurious seeds.

We demand that the State take appropriate steps to ensure that farmers do not fall in distress and loans are available and the loan waiver is carried out in full, he said.
