*CBI probe alone can uncover truth behind Sai Krishna lockup death*

Tadepalli, June 24: YSRCP spokesperson Vangaveeti Narendra questioned why the government is displaying such anxiety over the demand for a CBI inquiry into the lockup death of Gade Sai Krishna if there is nothing to hide. Addressing the media at the party’s central office in Tadepalli, he said a series of facts emerging after the incident have exposed what he described as a systematic campaign to portray Sai Krishna as a rowdy-sheeter and rapist in order to divert attention from the real issues surrounding his death.
Narendra stated that claims that Sai Krishna had 23 criminal cases against him were false and that only two cases remained after he was cleared in several others. He said the POCSO case repeatedly cited by ruling coalition leaders and sections of the media had already been dismissed by the court years ago. He further noted that Sai Krishna’s former partner herself clarified during a phone conversation with a television channel that they had been in a relationship several years ago, that the case lacked merit, and that she was now married and living separately. She also rejected claims that her father died by suicide because of Sai Krishna, stating that he had passed away years ago due to health complications unrelated to the case.
Narendra said the disappearance of CCTV footage from Krishnalanka Police Station and reports of harassment of personnel responsible for maintaining the surveillance system have deepened public suspicion. He questioned why the police used Sai Krishna, why his body was cremated without being handed over to the family, and why senior officials have remained silent despite serious questions being raised.
He asserted that a SIT investigation would only bury the truth and that a CBI probe is essential to uncover the full facts, identify all those responsible, and ensure justice for Sai Krishna’s family.
