Visakhapatnam, June 2: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Botcha Satyanarayana strongly criticised the coalition government, stating that its two-year rule has completely failed and damaged every system in the state. Speaking to the media at his camp office in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, he alleged large-scale irregularities in DSC teacher recruitment and accused the government of playing with the future of unemployed youth.
Botcha said it was shameful that even the card game “Bridge” was included under the sports quota in DSC recruitments. He alleged that the government increased the sports quota from 2 percent to 3 percent without clarity and gave jobs even to candidates who had not written DSC examinations. He demanded a thorough inquiry and said YSRCP leaders would soon meet the Governor over the issue.
He said the previous YSRCP government provided 10,300 teacher jobs and over two lakh secretariat jobs transparently without corruption. Challenging the coalition leaders for an open debate, he said the present government failed to maintain transparency in recruitment and selection lists.
Botcha also criticised the government over Bhogapuram airport, saying there is still no proper road or water connectivity despite claims of inauguration. He questioned why local youth were not being given jobs in industries and malls built on lands allotted at concessional rates.
He announced that YSRCP would organise statewide protest programmes from June 4 to 12 against the failures and “betrayals” of the coalition government and to support affected sections of society.
