Hyderabad, Feb 15,
2013: Inflicting a body blow to the TDP, several of its important leaders have
quit the party and joined YSR Congress along with their supporters on Friday,
while the Ichchapuram TDP MLA has called on the YSRCP president Sri Y.S. Jagan
Mohan Reddy in jail and announced his decision to join the party.
In a day of swift
developments, Bhimli TDP in-charge Anjaneya Raju, who unsuccessfully contested for
the seat in 2009 assembly elections as the party candidate, Guntur district TDP
vice-president Byreddy Ranga Reddy and Visakhapatnam Purna Market Committee TDP
leader Babu Rao have quit the party and joined YSR Congress.
While Anjaneya Raju and
Babu Rao met the party honourary president Smt. Y. S. Vijayamma at her Lotus
Pond residence in Hyderabad and took the membership of the party, Ranga Reddy
joined the YSR Congress in the presence of party MLA Sucharita and Guntur

Along with Sai Raj,
Pathapatnam former TDP MLA K. Mohan Rao and party in-charge K.Venkataramana have
also called on Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Chanchalguda jail. Later, they told
reporters they have decided to join YSR Congress as he is the only leader in
the state who can do justice to the people by implementing various welfare schemes
once introduced by Dr. YSR.
Denying the allegations
that he sold out himself to YSR Congress party, Sai Raj said that he discussed
several issues plaguing their district with Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy. “He assured
me he will solve all the problems faced by our district,” Sai Raj told
reporters.
He said he has seen the
urge in Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy to serve the people and has decided to join the
YSR Congress. “I will work with him irrespective of any position in the party,”
he said.
