YSRCP demands accountability for attack on Krishna ZP Chairperson

Pedana, July 13: YSRCP strongly condemns the brutal attack on Krishna District ZP Chairperson Uppala Harika by TDP and JanaSena goons in Gudivada.
YSRCP women leaders, including former Home Minister Taneti Vanitha, MLC Varudu Kalyani, and Vijayawada Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, visited Harika in Pedana to express solidarity. They hold the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government accountable for this assault, questioning the state of law and order when a woman public representative is attacked in the presence of police. “If a ZP Chairperson lacks protection, what safety can ordinary women expect?” asked Vanitha, criticizing the government’s inaction.
The leaders demanded immediate action from Chief Minister Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Home Minister Anita, the DGP, and the Women’s Commission. Kalyani stated, “This attack raises doubts about democracy in Andhra Pradesh. Leaders who condemn incidents in other states remain silent here, exposing their hollow promises.” Bhagyalakshmi added, “Ambedkar’s Constitution is sidelined for Lokesh’s ‘Red Book’ governance, terrorizing women.”
The leaders condemned the police’s failure to act and their suggestion to file a complaint in Pedana, hinting at complicity. They accused TDP and Jana Sena of fostering a culture of violence, branding TDP as a “Telugu Dandupalyam.”
YSRCP stands firmly with Harika’s family and demands strict punishment for the culprits to prevent such attacks, warning of statewide women’s protests if justice is denied.
