Nellore, September 1: YSRCP PAC Member and former Minister P. Anil Kumar Yadav demanded a comprehensive investigation into the alleged involvement of Chinese traders in the mining and quartz business in Nellore district.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he displayed documents relating to mining activities, visa correspondence and foreign visits and asked the government to establish their authenticity and place the facts before the public.
He alleged that attempts were being made to create a syndicate in the quartz business, affecting local miners, small traders and exporters. He sought an investigation into the alleged role of Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and Chinese trader Yang Jun Dow.
Anil questioned why furniture was hurriedly removed from Flat No. 101, which he described as an office linked to the quartz syndicate, after questions were raised about its activities.
He also sought a review of mining leases exceeding 50 years and the decisions taken regarding their revision.
Referring to a purported visa-related letter issued on the Nellore MP's letterhead for Yang Jun Dow, Anil demanded verification of the document and disclosure of the trader's business interests in Nellore. He also sought details of action taken on earlier FEMA and Mines Association complaints.
Anil demanded an investigation into a November 2024 visit to China's Sinoma company, questioning who authorised the delegation, its purpose, members, invitation and expenditure. Any misuse of an official delegation's name should invite legal action, he said.
He asked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to respond to the issues raised.
Anil said the matter would be taken to the Ministry of External Affairs and, if necessary, courts and investigating agencies.
He demanded protection for local mining workers, exporters and small businesses and said YSRCP would continue raising the issue until the government provides transparent answers.
