*Chandrababu’s Narsapuram visit offers nothing: Prasada Raju*

Narsapuram, September 2: YSRCP West Godavari district president and former MLA Mudunuri Prasada Raju said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Narsapuram offered nothing to the people, as no new funds or development projects were announced for the constituency.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, he said the visit was reduced to ministers praising the Chief Minister and officials praising ministers. Despite two years in office, the coalition government has neither sanctioned new pensions nor provided new houses, he said. In contrast, the previous YSRCP government had provided house sites to around 11,000 families in the constituency.

Prasada Raju said the aqua sector is facing a serious crisis due to rising electricity and feed costs. Feed prices have increased by Rs 10 to Rs 14, adding to the burden on farmers. He said the previous YSRCP government had provided around Rs 900 crore in power subsidy to aqua farmers.

He said the process concerning Kalipatnam lands, administrative approvals for Narsapuram harbour and the Aqua University were initiated during the YSRCP government. Around Rs 3,200 crore worth of development works were inaugurated or initiated in the constituency during the previous government.

He said Rs 82 crore had also been sanctioned earlier to address drinking water problems, but even completed overhead tanks were awaiting connections.

Prasada Raju said YSRCP was not afraid of local body elections. The party was ready to contest whenever elections were held and would contest independently. YSRCP had only sought elections after completion of the voter-list revision process with genuine voters.

He said the government should fulfil its election promises, support farmers and aqua farmers, provide pensions, address unemployment and allocate funds for Narsapuram, warning that people would give an appropriate response at the right time.
