*YSR remembered on 17th death anniversary, Leaders recall his enduring legacy*

Idupulapaya/Tadepalli, September 2: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid rich tributes to former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his 17th death anniversary at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya on Wednesday.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with family members, offered floral tributes and participated in special prayers. YS Vijayamma, YS Bharathi and other family members joined the prayers and remembered the late leader and his contribution to the people.

At the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, the anniversary was observed with several programmes. Water brought from the Gundlakamma, Pulichintala and Veligonda irrigation projects was used for an abhishekam to YSR’s statue. Paddy grown in these project areas was also offered as a symbolic tribute. A blood donation camp, distribution of clothes to the poor, interfaith prayers and Anna Prasadam were organised.

YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said YSR had changed the course of the State through welfare and development. He said Jalayagnam, free power to farmers, Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement had transformed millions of lives. He said YSR had taken up 86 irrigation projects and left an indelible mark on irrigation development across the Telugu states.

MLC Lella Appi Reddy accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of attempting “credit theft” by claiming projects developed during the tenures of YSR and YS Jagan.

The leaders said YS Jagan carried forward YSR’s welfare vision through programmes supporting farmers and weaker sections. They called upon people to stand with YS Jagan and said bringing him back as Chief Minister would be the true tribute to YSR and his legacy.
