*Stop threatening employees, clear their dues: YSRCP*

Tadepalli, September 1: YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing State President Nalamaaru Chandrasekhar Reddy said Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad’s threats against employee union leaders were unacceptable and warned that government employees would not be intimidated for demanding their legitimate dues and rights.

Speaking at the YSRCP Central Office, he said no Chief Minister or Minister in his 40 years of service had treated employees in such a manner. Employees are not slaves, he said, adding that governments may change but employees remain the backbone of administration and ensure delivery of every welfare programme.

Chandrasekhar Reddy said the coalition government had failed to fulfil even one of its promises to employees and pensioners in 27 months. He demanded immediate payment of nearly Rs. 40,000 crore in pending GPF, APGLI, retirement benefits, PRC and DA dues. He said 40 days had passed since the July 22 meeting with the Group of Ministers, but no decision had been taken.

He said the government had also failed on CPS/GPS review, 12th PRC, Interim Relief and timely release of DAs, with five DAs now pending. He recalled that the YS Jagan government had granted 27% IR soon after coming to power.

He demanded immediate restoration of OPS by abolishing CPS, implementation of the 12th PRC, declaration of at least 30% Interim Relief, clearance of all pending dues and restoration of the Employees Health Scheme by ensuring the government’s contribution to hospitals.

Chandrasekhar Reddy warned that if the government continued to ignore employees and pensioners, 13 lakh employees and pensioners across the State would be forced to take to the streets.
