Tadepalli, July 13: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has termed as height of sadism and gross misuse of power by Chandrababu Naidu government the heinous attack on Krishna district ZP chairperson Uppala Harika and condemned the spree of attacks on opposition that has been unabated.
In a social media post on X, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said lawlessness prevails in the State with TDP goons at large and are on an attacking spree on YSRCP cadre and women which is a shameless act and misuse of power and police for political vendetta.
The orders have come from the leadership to attack Uppala Harika, besides using abusive language all in the presence of police which shows the level of governance. This is a draconian rule and as Opposition Party, we have a right to hold a meeting which is our democratic right.
Putting leaders on house arrest only shows Chandrababu’s sadism and his mean level of governance as YSRCP cadre attending the Party event were attacked and were abused verbally which is not in the true spirit of democracy and is a shameful act.
The same methodology has been applied against former MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy at Tadipatri in Anantapur district. He was not allowed to return to his home and constituency despite High Court directives. Police had whisked him off his house at gun point.
The house of Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy, who served as an MLA for six times, was also attacked in Nellore in a premeditated manner by TDP goons in the presence of police which shows the misuse of power and police by Chandrababu Naidu government.
Ironically, a counter-case was filed against Prasanna, who is the victim of the attack. No action was taken against the MLA who attacked and destroyed the house.
Chandrababu Naidu has brought in faction culture and is pursuing it with fake case against YSRCP leaders including Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Peddireddy Mithun Reddy, Nandigam Suresh, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, Posani Krishna Murali besides many others. Senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao was implicated in false cases and hundreds of social media activists are facing false cases and torture at mandal and village level.
Chandrababu should take responsibility for all the atrocities being committed in the coalition and times will not remain the same but will change and when we assume office, those who are misusing power should face the consequences.
If this same tradition continues as a reaction after our government comes tomorrow, what will be your situation then? If you completely abandon democracy, constitutional rule, and the law and behave according to your wishes, the situation will not remain like this forever.
