Rastha Roko In Demand For Prevention Of Road Accidents

Nellore: YSRCP's MLA of Nellore Rural constituency, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy stated that Nellore bypass road had become a deadly highway. Demanding for construction of service road all along the bypass road, he held Rastha Roko on Nellore bypass road and staged a dharna in front of national highways office. Speaking on this occasion, he mentioned how residents of adjacent villages were facing problems. He also stated that 52 deaths had occured during this year till date. He suggested that building an over-bridge and a service road would bring the problems to an end. Mentioning that he had spoken to the highways office in New Delhi in the past two months, he complained that no action had been taken yet. He added that his fight would continue until the Government responded and built service roads and bridges. After the dharna, he submitted in the ighways office, a memorandum with thousands of signatures. Also participating in this event were state secretary of YSRCP, Anam Vijay Kumar Reddy, party leaders and activists.

Basic infrastructure needed by the national highway
YSRCP's state general secretary, Anam Vijay Kumar Reddy, opined that the absence of flyovers, underbridges and service roads was causing troubles to the villagers of the adjoining areas and leading to hundreds of deaths. After participating in a local all-party meeting, he spoke to the media. Although the national highway acted as a link road for NTR Nagar, Rajupalem, Chintareddypalem, Valagamudi road and other areas, there was no proper infrastructure, he commented. He reminded that it was the responsibility of the National Highway Authority of India to provide proper security to people on the highways. He specified that people from almost eight municipal divisions belonging to Nellore constituency were facing problems. He demanded that the construction of highways should be hastened.
