*Sai Krishna custodial death case needs CBI probe and judicial inquiry*

Vijayawada, July 4: YSRCP leaders on Saturday appeared before the Magistrate conducting the inquiry into the custodial death of Sai Krishna and submitted a written representation listing their objections, concerns and demands.

Addressing the media later, former minister Ambati Rambabu, along with former MLAs TJR Sudhakar Babu and Malladi Vishnu, demanded a judicial inquiry and a CBI investigation, stating that only an independent probe could ensure justice for the victim's family.

Ambati Rambabu alleged that there was an attempt to project Circle Inspector Nagaraju as the only accused while protecting the real persons responsible behind the case. He said the custodial death of Sai Krishna had shocked the entire country and called for a thorough investigation by collecting CCTV footage, mobile phone data and all other evidence. He said the case should not be diluted and demanded that all those found guilty receive the strictest punishment under law, similar to the punishment awarded in a custodial death case in Tamil Nadu.

Former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu said the party had submitted its objections in writing during the magistrate's inquiry. He demanded that CCTV footage from Markapuram to Vijayawada be secured and made public and asked the government to reveal who ordered Sai Krishna's detention. He said the case was a human rights issue and expressed no confidence in the SIT and magistrate inquiry.

Former MLA Malladi Vishnu said the ongoing inquiries appeared to be an eyewash and reiterated that a CBI investigation was the only way to uncover the truth. He said YSRCP would continue its fight until complete justice is delivered to Sai Krishna's family.
