Tadepalli, July 27: Former MP Margani Bharat demanded the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him responsible for the Mega DSC-2025 scam, and called for a CBI investigation into the entire recruitment process. Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, Bharat said that just as Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accepted moral responsibility over the NEET controversy, Nara Lokesh must also resign for the large-scale irregularities in the Mega DSC recruitment. He said the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government filled 1.20 lakh jobs transparently, whereas the coalition government failed to conduct even the recruitment of 16,000 teacher posts without controversy.
Bharat questioned why DSC first-rank candidate Naveen from Zone-II Krishna District was denied appointment and why his details were removed from the official website. He said serious questions remain over an outsourcing computer operator in the School Education Department securing the first rank after having prior access to confidential examination material, and demanded that the government reveal whether the question paper leak was confined to one individual or extended to a wider network.
He said the government deliberately diluted G.O.74 of 2012, which mandated a qualifying examination for Sports Quota recruitment, by issuing G.O. Nos. 4 and 47 exempting candidates from the entrance examination. After completing more than 380 Sports Quota appointments, the government issued G.O.56 restoring the examination requirement, exposing the manner in which the rules were altered only after the recruitment process was completed. Bharat stated that Sports Quota jobs were distributed through a backdoor mechanism, with deserving sportspersons, including National Archery Gold Medalist Anigi Durgaiah, being denied appointments despite superior achievements. He questioned the basis adopted by the Selection Committee, pointing out that candidates were selected even without submitting the prescribed supporting certificates, and demanded that the complete selection criteria and evaluation process be made public.
He also criticized the government's claims of transforming Andhra Pradesh into a "Global Sports Hub," stating that such promises were inserted into Government Orders despite the absence of international-standard sports infrastructure. Bharat further said the coalition government had failed to fulfil its promises of ₹3,000 monthly unemployment allowance, four lakh jobs every year, fee reimbursement for students and financial assistance for women above 18 years of age. He challenged Nara Lokesh to recommend a CBI or sitting judge-led inquiry if the recruitment was truly transparent and warned that YSRCP's student and youth wings, along with DSC victims and unemployed youth, would intensify statewide protests, including a march to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's residence, until justice is delivered and those responsible for the Mega DSC scam are held accountable.
