*Toorpu Kapus seek Central OBC reservation; YS Jagan assures full support*

Tadepalli, July 29: Representatives of the Toorpu Kapu Vidya Vignana Abhirudhi Sangam also met YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the party's Central Office in Tadepalli on Wednesday and urged him to take up their long-pending demand with the Centre for inclusion of Toorpu Kapus in the Central OBC list.

The delegation said that although Toorpu Kapus have BC status in Andhra Pradesh, many families, especially those who migrated from North Andhra to other parts of the State, are unable to avail Central OBC reservation benefits in education and employment. They recalled that the late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had issued GO No. 82 recognising Toorpu Kapus as BCs in the State and referred to the NCBC public hearing held during Y.S. Jagan's tenure.

YS Jagan assured the delegation that YSRCP would fully support the genuine demand of Toorpu Kapus. He said the party's MPs would raise the issue in Parliament and press the Centre and the State Government to ensure Toorpu Kapus receive the benefits of Central OBC reservation.

Those who met YS Jagan included Toorpu Kapu Vidya Vignana Abhirudhi Sangam President Lopinti Chiranjeevi, OBC representatives Kodigudla Rambabu, Thummagunta Rangarao, R.S. Naidu, Routhu Venkata Chinnababu, and former MLA Malladi Vishnu, among others.
