Visakhapatnam, July 26: YSRCP State Official Spokesperson Konda Rajeev Gandhi demanded the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him accountable for what he described as the DSC-2025 recruitment scam, and called for a comprehensive CBI investigation into the entire recruitment process. Addressing the media at the YSRCP office in Visakhapatnam, he said the coalition government has weakened democratic institutions in Andhra Pradesh and has failed to answer serious questions raised with documentary evidence by former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Rajeev Gandhi said the DSC recruitment scandal has become as significant for Andhra Pradesh as the NEET controversy was at the national level, with the lives of lakhs of unemployed youth being jeopardized. He pointed out that even a National Games Gold Medalist was denied a Sports Quota appointment, illustrating the extent of irregularities in the recruitment process. He said the government has failed to provide any accountability despite mounting evidence and public concern, making a CBI probe imperative.
He criticized the government’s response to those questioning the recruitment process, stating that students and unemployed youth are being met with police action, lathi charges and criminal cases instead of answers. He said if the Union Government could act on the NEET paper leak issue, there is no reason why the DSC scam should not be subjected to an independent CBI investigation. He warned that if corrective action is not taken, YSRCP will intensify its agitation under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy through the party’s youth and student wings.
Rajeev Gandhi also questioned the government’s development claims, stating that while it boasts of attracting ₹23 lakh crore in investments and creating 25 lakh jobs, official figures placed before Parliament show investments of only ₹6,962 crore. He said the government has failed to deliver employment, unemployment allowance, fee reimbursement and welfare, and urged immediate action against those responsible for the DSC scam.
