Tadepalli, August 7: YSRCP State Spokesperson Putta Sivashankar charged the coalition government with attempting to weaken the Krishna Milk Union and force its newly elected Chairman Chalasani Anjaneyulu to resign within 24 hours of his unanimous election.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP Central Office, Sivashankar said the Krishna Milk Union election was conducted unanimously and Anjaneyulu was elected democratically by the directors. Yet, immediately after the Cabinet meeting, Ministers Parthasarathi and Kollu Ravindra rushed to the Vijay Dairy office, not to discuss development but to press for his resignation.
He said the pressure continued even after Anjaneyulu was hospitalised. According to a video released by director Vemuri Sai, Ministers were sending messages demanding his resignation, while one Minister even sought his immediate discharge despite doctors advising treatment and a stent procedure. Another Minister reportedly convened directors at a five-star hotel to push either resignation or a no-confidence move.
Sivashankar said this reflected the government’s interference in democratic cooperative institutions. He recalled how Chittoor Dairy was weakened during Chandrababu Naidu’s earlier tenure while Heritage Dairy expanded, and questioned whether the same pattern was now being repeated with Krishna Milk Union and Vijay Dairy.
He demanded that the government explain why three Ministers were intervening in the affairs of an elected cooperative body and why Anjaneyulu was being pressured to step down. He warned that the government would be fully responsible if anything happened to Chalasani Anjaneyulu.
Sivashankar also linked the episode to the recent Pulivendula ZPTC by-election, saying democratic institutions were being systematically influenced through political pressure. He demanded that the government release a white paper on the Krishna Milk Union episode and prove that it has no hidden agenda to weaken the cooperative.
