: Almost 150 houses came down due to heavy rainfall in the district. YSRCP president of Srikakulam, Reddy Santhi appealed to the Government to come to the aid of the people who had lost their shelter due to the natural calamity. She demanded that the funds sanctioned by the 14th Finance Commission should be utilised for sanitation work and health camps in the villages. She suggested that medical tests should be conducted to the girijans who were victim to diseases and treatment should be provided. Santhi also suggested that awareness should be created among girijan villages about contagious diseases. She also demanded that prevention of mosquito-borne diseases should not be retained to publicity but should be applied in these villages and sanitation situation should be made better.
