*Amaravati steeped in scams; Mavigun better option*

Tadepalli, July 3: Reiterating that Amaravati is steeped in corruption and scams, YSRCP has said that Mavigun is a viable and better option and can come up at ten per cent of that cost.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had clarified YSRCP's stand on Mavigun and again explained how it has superior amenities vis-à-vis Amaravati, which is a greenfield project.

Mavigun has road, rail and air connectivity and has ready-to-occupy infrastructure. It is closer to the airport, railway station and highways, while Amaravati is being preferred by Chandrababu only to milk the cash cow. Amaravati is steeped in corruption and, being in a verdant region, the soil conditions make construction and reliability more difficult.

The Sivaramakrishnan Committee has said the same thing, that this agricultural land is not fit for construction, but Chandrababu is after it only for his realtor's interests.

It has been Chandrababu and his coalition partners who have changed their stand on Amaravati, while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was firm on his stand that the capital should come up on government land.

Pawan Kalyan spoke about an inclusive capital and made many tall claims about Kurnool, but has now yielded to Chandrababu's design, which shows that it is the coalition that has no consistency on the capital, while our leader has clarity on the issue.

The loan burden of Amaravati would be too high and the public debt would be unbearable for future generations, while Mavigun, being a ready-for-development concept, is more economical, viable and feasible. Chandrababu is not in a position to explain how Amaravati is a self-financing project and why he has borrowed over Rs 47,000 crores.

The loan amount can be used for better options and welfare activities. Chandrababu is not able to keep the promises he made to the farmers as well, which is the reason they have come to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking justice. They attacked our team when it was on its way to Penumaka. We will continue to fight for the farmers' cause.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Kadapa Steel Plant in 2023, but Chandrababu stalled the works and has now gone to town for the foundation stone-laying, which is another act of credit chori on his part, Sajjala said.
