Tadepalli, Oct 15: The YSR Congress Party on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary at the party’s central office in Tadepalli. The programme was held under the leadership of MLC and Central Party Office In-charge Lella Appi Reddy, who, along with party leaders, offered floral homage to Dr. Kalam’s portrait.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC Lella Appi Reddy said Dr. Kalam rose from humble beginnings to become India’s “Missile Man” and one of the most respected scientists in the world. He said Dr. Kalam’s life reflected discipline, patriotism and a lifelong commitment to education and national development. He added that former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy drew inspiration from Kalam’s vision and implemented historic reforms to uplift poor students through quality education and equal opportunities.
MLC Varudu Kalyani described Dr. Kalam as a true people’s President and a great teacher who continued to inspire youth until his last breath. She said Dr. Kalam believed that education was the strongest weapon to eradicate poverty, a philosophy reflected in the previous YSRCP government’s governance model.
Several senior party leaders participated in the programme, including MLCs Ramesh Yadav, Aaluru Sambasiva Reddy, Sheikh Asif, TJR Sudhakar Babu, Manohar Reddy, Ankam Reddy Narayana Murthy, Kakumanu Rajashekar, Vennapusa Ravindra Reddy, Naramalli Padmaja, Kakani Poojitha, Battula Rama Rao, Durgareddy, Panuganti Chaitanya, A. Ravichandra, Dodda Anjireddy, Punyaseela and others.
