Tadepalli, May 18: YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy held a Zoom conference with YSRCP district presidents and leaders from the united Rayalaseema districts, Prakasam, and Nellore to review and intensify the movement for the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project. Former minister Sake Sailajanath and other senior leaders participated in the meeting.
YSRCP leaders stated that the coalition government has completely neglected the Rayalaseema Lift project despite it being crucial for irrigation and drinking water needs in Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and Nellore regions. They said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is compromising Rayalaseema’s water interests while remaining silent on Telangana projects affecting Andhra Pradesh.
Sajjala stated that the district-level round table meetings conducted by YSRCP received strong public response and even forced the TDP to react on the issue. He directed party leaders to form state and district-level task forces involving senior leaders, irrigation experts, intellectuals, and retired irrigation officials to strengthen the agitation.
The party resolved to intensify awareness campaigns, webinars, protest programs, and grassroots outreach across villages and constituencies to build a sustained people’s movement until the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project is completed.
