*Dalit freedom will return only with YS Jagan: YSRCP*

Tadepalli, July 24: YSRCP Dalit leaders declared that the coalition government’s fall and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s return as Chief Minister are essential to restore freedom, dignity and security to Dalits in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the party’s central office on the 55th death anniversary of revolutionary poet Gurram Jashuva, they paid floral tributes and said Jashuva’s writings and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s struggle would guide their movement against caste discrimination.

The leaders said Dalits continued to face discrimination even after seven decades of Independence and were being subjected to attacks, killings, social exclusion and political suppression under the coalition government. They charged that the Constitution written by Ambedkar had been replaced by a “Red Book Constitution” designed to intimidate weaker sections and opposition voices.

YSRCP SC Cell President T.J.R. Sudhakar Babu said no violence, social boycott or humiliation could weaken their determination to make Jagan Chief Minister again. He said YS Jagan’s welfare governance protected Dalit self-respect and ensured education, housing and social-security schemes for poor families.

Party leaders said Jashuva challenged untouchability through his poetry, while Jagan translated those ideals into governance by transforming government schools through Nadu–Nedu and extending welfare without discrimination. They described Jashuva as a warrior who turned his pen into a sword against caste oppression.

The leaders called upon SCs, STs, BCs and minorities to remain united, pursue higher education and strengthen themselves socially and economically. They said attacks on marginalised communities had increased under the coalition government and even the Dalit Home Minister had failed to stand with victims.

They resolved to carry the ideals of Ambedkar and Jashuva to every village and continue their movement until Jagan returned as Chief Minister and constitutional governance was restored.
