Tadepalli, May 30: YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy called upon party leaders and cadre to make the statewide protest programmes titled "Two Years of Backstabbing” a grand success against the anti-people policies of the Telugu Desam Party government.
Addressing a Zoom meeting with party regional coordinators and district presidents at Tadepalli on Saturday, Sajjala said the programmes are being organised as per the directions of YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said the coalition government has failed to implement the promises made during elections and has cheated all sections of people including farmers, women, youth, students and unemployed persons during the last two years.
He said the protest programmes were designed to strongly expose the injustice, betrayal and unfulfilled promises of the government among the public.
As part of the schedule, posters and booklets will be unveiled at the party central office on June 1, at district headquarters on June 2 and at constituency centres on June 3. On June 4, protests will be held at mandal centres by burning copies of the TDP election manifesto, Super Six promises and election bonds. Indoor meetings on government failures and betrayal of youth, women and farmers will be organised on June 8 or 9 along with black balloon demonstrations and photo or video exhibitions. Massive rallies and protest programmes will be conducted at constituency headquarters on June 12.
Sajjala asked party leaders to ensure that the government’s failures and false promises become a major public discussion. He also called upon public organisations, representatives of various sections and like-minded political parties to participate in the movement.
He said the party’s ongoing programmes on the DSC issue were receiving good public support and added that rising prices of essential commodities and hardships faced by common people should be highlighted widely.
Sajjala also instructed party committees to pass resolutions on the failures of the two-year rule and promote them extensively through digital media. He asked leaders to effectively reflect public anger and dissatisfaction to make the movement successful.
He further advised party leaders to remain alert regarding the SIR house-to-house survey programme scheduled from June 15 to July 14. He said BLAs and BLOs should work in coordination and constituency in-charges should complete the required mapping and planning before the survey begins.
He also called upon party cadre to make the youth wing protest programme on the DSC issue on June 1 successful and complete the verification process of party ID cards at the earliest.
