Tadepalli/Guntur/Visakhapatnam/Nellore, June 13: YSR Congress Party women leaders launched a scathing attack on the coalition government, alleging that its much-publicised “Two Years of Trust” celebrations in Tirupati were, in reality, a celebration of betrayal and broken promises. They accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of mortgaging the dignity and self-respect of women by abandoning the Aadabidda Nidhi scheme after securing their votes through signed guarantee bonds and election promises.
Addressing separate media conferences in Tadepalli, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, and Nellore, YSRCP leaders Noor Fatima, MLC Varudu Kalyani, former minister Vidadala Rajini, party spokesperson Bandi Punyaseela, and Women’s Wing Working President Kakani Poojitha said the coalition government has cheated nearly two crore women by failing to implement Aadabidda Nidhi despite completing two years in office. They pointed out that every eligible woman was promised ₹1,500 per month, yet not a single rupee has been allocated in three consecutive budgets, leaving each beneficiary with pending dues of ₹36,000 and the government owing nearly ₹72,000 crore to women across the state.
The leaders alleged that the newly introduced “P4” initiative is merely an excuse to permanently abandon Aadabidda Nidhi and shift the government’s responsibility onto society. They said that after making grand promises during elections, the coalition is now citing financial constraints while asking women to depend on charity instead of honouring legally and morally binding commitments. They termed this an attack on women’s self-respect and a deliberate attempt to dilute genuine women’s empowerment.
Criticising the coalition’s overall performance, they said the promises of free bus travel, three free LPG cylinders, pensions for BC, SC, ST and Minority women above 50 years, and several women-centric welfare schemes remain largely unimplemented. They alleged that the “Super Six” has become nothing more than a “Super Fraud,” with women emerging as the biggest victims of the government’s deception.
The YSRCP leaders contrasted the present administration with the government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, describing his tenure as a golden era for women. They noted that 99.9 percent of Navaratnalu promises were implemented transparently through Direct Benefit Transfer, while schemes such as YSR Cheyutha, YSR Asara, Kapu Nestham, EBC Nestham, zero-interest loans, Amma Vodi, housing programmes, and financial assistance initiatives substantially strengthened women economically and socially. They said YS Jagan’s governance treated women as equal stakeholders in development rather than merely as a vote bank.
They also highlighted that YS Jagan institutionalised women’s empowerment by providing 50 percent reservation in local bodies, nominated posts, and nominated works, giving women leadership roles across governance. In contrast, they alleged, the coalition government has dismantled welfare architecture, weakened women’s economic independence, and failed to ensure their safety and security.
The leaders questioned why the coalition has failed to fulfil any of its major promises despite borrowing heavily over the last two years. They challenged coalition MLAs to visit the4 people and claim that the Super Six guarantees have been implemented. They also criticised the government for attempting to divert public attention through political rhetoric instead of addressing the growing frustration among women.
Calling the coalition’s Tirupati event a “Two Years of Betrayal and Crisis” rather than a celebration of trust, the YSRCP leaders asserted that women who were deceived through signed guarantee bonds will deliver a fitting democratic response. They demanded the immediate implementation of Aadabidda Nidhi and all other election promises, warning that women across Andhra Pradesh are prepared to unite and fight for their rights and dignity. They reaffirmed that the YSR Congress Party will continue its uncompromising struggle alongside women until every promise made to them is honoured in letter and spirit.
