*Telugu Academy funds being misused: Lakshmi Parvathi*

Tadepalli, June 30: YSRCP has slammed the coalition government for misusing the Telugu Academy funds and joining hands with private players in the publication of funds against the interest of the institution.

Speaking to media here on Tuesday, Party General Secretary and former Chairperson of Telugu Academy N Lakshmi Parvathi said, Nara Lokesh has been playing taunt with the Academy by selling off printing material to private players and misusing the funds.

Telugu Academy came into being by the efforts of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and we could get it after waging a legal battle and we have maintained its sanctity with austerity measures and books were published to benefit the poor sections of the society at low cost.

With YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government publishing the books from the government side, the Academy funds swelled up to Rs 50 crore which is now being misused by Lokesh and his people in the Academy, she said.

The coalition government, however, has sold the Intermediate books in PDF format to private players which will hamper the sales of Academy books  which is a major scam. The tender process was changed in a tailor made manner to suit their favoured few.

There are many irregularities in the prestigious Academy where they are spending it without the sanction of the Executive Board. While we have done our best to upkeep the decorum of the Academy, Lokesh has been misusing funds and even started a YouTube channel which makes no sense.

Chandrababu and his son Lokesh are always on the side of private parties and have no ethics. They have been misusing police for personal and political gains and are always on the side of private players. The education system, which was closely guarded and developed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, has now fallen into the wrong hands and it is in dismay, she said.
