YSRCP alleges large-scale land scam in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, July 27: Former minister and YSRCP Anakapalli district president, Gudivada Amarnath has strongly criticized the TDP-led coalition government alleging massive irregularities in land allocations in Visakhapatnam over the past 15 months.
 Speaking at a press meet here on Sunday, he said the government was behaving like a real estate agency by distributing public lands at throwaway prices to its followers, favored companies, and real estate groups, sidelining the public interest and ignoring election promises.
He pointed out that while the late YSR and the YSRCP regime had planned to develop Visakhapatnam into a major IT destination to rival Hyderabad, the present government had instead diverted valuable land to unknown or newly incorporated companies with no track record. He cited examples where prime land worth thousands of crores had been handed over to companies like Ursa, Sattva, and Kapil at rates as low as Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore per acre, calling it a “quid pro quo” scam. Amarnath said this allocation had failed to generate even a single IT job for the youth of the state.
He stated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Lokesh were directly overseeing these shady land deals, and that public land was being looted to benefit their associates. He questioned why similar land allocations were not being made in Amaravati and why the TDP was not bringing investments there. He also linked Naidu’s frequent Singapore visits to alleged corruption and old ties with tainted individuals.
Amarnath declared that YSRCP would launch a mass movement against this land scam and hold the coalition government accountable for diverting public wealth for private gain.
