Tadepalli/Guntur/Narasaraopet, June 5: YSRCP leaders MLC Lella Appi Reddy, former minister Ambati Rambabu, and former MLA Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy strongly condemned the arrest of former Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahma Naidu, describing it as a politically motivated act aimed at targeting an opposition leader. They asserted that Brahma Naidu is not an accused in the disputed land transaction but a victim who has been deliberately implicated.
The leaders stated that the land issue came to light only after Brahma Naidu’s relative, Bolla Ramesh, who had entered into an agreement for the property, raised doubts about the authenticity of the documents and approached district authorities seeking an inquiry. Subsequent verification reportedly revealed the use of forged government orders, leading to an official investigation. Despite this, they said, the victim’s family has been turned into the accused.
Lella Appi Reddy questioned how Brahma Naidu could be arrested when his name does not appear anywhere in the agreement and noted that he is a 70-year-old senior citizen who himself sought transparency in the matter. Ambati Rambabu said a false narrative was being created because Brahma Naidu belongs to YSRCP and alleged that police machinery was being misused to harass opposition leaders. Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy stated that even statements recorded during the investigation indicated that the purchasers had relied on documents presented as genuine and were not responsible for the alleged forgery.
The YSRCP leaders maintained that the arrest was driven by political vendetta rather than facts and expressed confidence that Brahma Naidu would soon emerge innocent and vindicated through the legal process.
