*AP tops in real estate, not investment*

Visakhapatnam, July 18: Former Minister and YSRCP West Godavari Regional Coordinator Gudivada Amarnath said Andhra Pradesh was No.1 in Ease of Doing Business under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, while Chandrababu Naidu is now No.1 in “Ease of Doing Real Estate Business” and Nara Lokesh is No.1 in “Speed of Doing Corruption.”
He said the coalition government has spent 25 months on event management, marketing and publicity while ignoring its promises and public problems. The government has failed to attract genuine new investments and is projecting projects initiated during the YSRCP government as its own achievements. Andhra Pradesh, which secured the No.1 position in Ease of Doing Business four consecutive times under Y.S. Jagan has now fallen to eighth place.
Amarnath said Chandrababu is touring the world, but investments and jobs are not coming to the State. Industrial incentives remain unpaid, law and order has collapsed, and investors cannot have confidence in such an environment. Even land offered for one rupee will not attract genuine investors when governance is weak. Valuable Visakhapatnam lands are being allotted at throwaway prices, not for investments but as rewards to favoured interests.
He demanded that Chandrababu apologise to the people over the false campaign on Amara Raja. The YSRCP government never harassed Amara Raja, Heritage or any other industry, and business expansion cannot be portrayed as industries fleeing the State.
He said medical colleges, ports and fishing harbours are being privatised, while Amaravati has become the country’s biggest real-estate project. The government speaks of lakhs of crores in investments, but not even visible employment has materialised. Investors need a red carpet, not a Red Book.
Amarnath also condemned the government’s failure to provide proper security during Y.S. Jagan’s Bhimavaram visit. A government unable to protect a former Chief Minister cannot protect ordinary citizens. He urged the coalition to abandon publicity and regain public trust through performance.
