*Public issues abandoned under coalition rule: Botsa*

Visakhapatnam, August 30: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council and former Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said the coalition government has completely abandoned public issues, leaving people to struggle with soaring prices, unemployment, power cuts and collapsing public services.
Speaking at his camp office in Visakhapatnam, Botsa said essential commodity prices had become unbearable and rice was being sold at around ₹70 per kg in a State once known as Annapurna. He said the government had forgotten market intervention and was more interested in publicity and personal attacks than addressing people’s hardships.
He demanded an immediate CBI inquiry into DSC Sports Quota recruitment, questioning how jobs could be given without candidates even writing examinations. He said Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh were avoiding a debate on DSC irregularities. He also questioned the cancellation of Gurukul schools and said the much-publicised “Sanjeevini” programme offered nothing substantially new.
Botsa said education, healthcare and food security had deteriorated, while families were being pushed into severe financial distress. On threats to cancel Assembly membership for non-attendance, he said, “If you can, go ahead and cancel it.”
He demanded action to control aqua-feed prices, questioned why Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had skipped four consecutive Cabinet meetings, and warned of a major agitation if mining resumed at Panchadarla. He also sought answers on undeclared power cuts and repeated incidents affecting student safety in schools.
Botsa said YSRCP was fully prepared for local body elections whenever they were held and challenged the coalition government to an open debate on its failures and the problems facing the people.
