Coalition govt owes employees Rs.30,000 crore

Tadepalli, March 21: State President of the YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing Nalamari Chandrasekhar Reddy lambasted CM Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government for its anti-employee stance. The government deceives employees with unfulfilled pre-election promises, leaving them in distress. Chandrasekhar pointed out that the state owes employees Rs. 30,000 crore in dues, including DA arrears, PRC arrears, leave encashment, medical reimbursements, retirement benefits, and contributions to CPS, GPF, and APGLI, demanding a timeline for their release.
Labeling Chandrababu’s governance as blatantly anti-employee, Chandrasekhar criticized the government for scrapping the previous YSRCP’s Pay Revision Commission (PRC) without forming a new one, neglecting Interim Relief (IR), Dearness Allowance (DA), and timely salary and pension payments. Health cards remain non-functional due to unpaid premiums, and promises of 20 lakh jobs, unemployment allowances, and a job calendar have been abandoned. He questioned why, even after 10 months, the promised 30% IR and regularization of contract employees remain unaddressed.
Chandrasekhar highlighted the government’s failure to review CPS and GPS for a viable pension scheme, leaving 3 lakh employees in limbo. Anganwadi workers, secretariat staff, and volunteers are protesting unmet demands while outsourcing employees face delayed payments after the APCOS system was dismantled. The stalled Mega DSC teacher recruitment and vacant posts reflect further neglect, he added.
He accused the coalition of undermining the village and ward secretariat system, established by former CM YS Jagan to serve citizens, through politically motivated rationalization, leaving 21,000 posts vacant. Chandrasekhar demanded immediate action, including 30% IR, regular payments, and fulfillment of promises, warning that continued anti-employee policies would provoke a strong response from the workforce.
