Tadepalli, April 15: Former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu stated that industrialists in Andhra Pradesh are facing continuous harassment under the coalition government, stating that a “Red Book” style of governance is being imposed even on the industrial sector, turning it into a curse for investors. He criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting public issues and instead facilitating settlements and share arrangements for coalition leaders.
He pointed out that after Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy recently met the Chief Minister, he intensified his actions against the UltraTech Cement factory by resorting to threats and coercive tactics. When the company management did not respond to pressure, the situation escalated further, with orchestrated complaints being filed through his followers and industrial operations being disrupted, including blocking transport vehicles. He stated that there are attempts to force the relocation of the UltraTech Cement plant from the region.
Sudhakar Babu further stated that similar harassment was faced earlier by the Jindal company, which eventually shifted its investments to Maharashtra. He accused coalition leaders of systematically intimidating multiple companies across the state, creating an atmosphere of fear among industrialists.
Questioning the government’s approach, he asked how any investor would be willing to invest in a state where industries are subjected to such intimidation. He challenged the government to present a clear account of how many industries they have brought in compared to the previous administration and warned that continued harassment of the industrial sector would severely damage the state’s investment climate.
