*Chandrababu betrayed people with false promises and tax-burden*

Tadepalli, June 5: YSRCP State Official Spokesperson and former MLA Kaile Anil Kumar strongly criticized the Chandrababu Naidu government, describing it as a “backstab and tax-burden government” that has deceived people with false promises while imposing unbearable financial burdens through taxes, cess, user charges, and increased tariffs. Addressing the media at the YSRCP Central Office in Tadepalli, he said Chandrababu Naidu had once again proved himself to be the brand ambassador of betrayal by failing to implement the Super Six promises and by burdening people despite promising relief before the elections.
He alleged that while Chandrababu promised to reduce electricity tariffs, fuel prices, and liquor rates, his government instead imposed massive costs on the public. According to him, electricity consumers have been burdened with nearly ₹20,000 crore in additional charges over the last two years through multiple tariff hikes, while increases in petrol and diesel prices have imposed an additional annual burden of about ₹8,000 crore on the people. He stated that Andhra Pradesh now ranks among the highest in fuel prices in the country and warned that the government is preparing to further increase RTC bus fares, placing another ₹300 crore burden on passengers.
Kaile Anil Kumar accused the government of pushing RTC towards privatization by failing to adequately support the corporation while delaying reimbursements for the women’s free travel scheme. He said that despite promising affordable and quality liquor, the government has increased liquor prices on almost all brands except select low-cost products, while simultaneously allowing the proliferation of belt shops and permit rooms. He alleged that liquor revenues meant for the government are being diverted into the pockets of coalition leaders.
The former MLA further stated that the coalition government has turned every aspect of life into a source of taxation. He pointed out that residents and businesses in Amaravati will be forced to pay development charges and recovery tariffs, while even morning walkers at public facilities such as the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Visakhapatnam are being subjected to user charges. He criticized the government’s water management policies, alleging that new user charges on drinking water schemes and revised urban water tariffs would impose an additional burden of more than ₹1,000 crore annually on rural households, while urban consumers will also face steep increases.

He further accused the government of imposing higher registration charges, increasing land values, and levying a 10 percent road cess on vehicle purchases, which he said would burden people by nearly ₹1,500 crore every year. He noted that these increases come despite reductions in GST on vehicles by the Central Government.
Kaile Anil Kumar said that while Chandrababu Naidu promised wealth creation and prosperity, his government has instead accumulated nearly ₹3.60 lakh crore in debt within two years and is continuously extracting money from people through various taxes, tariffs, and cess collections. He added that prices of essential commodities have risen sharply, making life increasingly difficult for ordinary families. He asserted that the coalition government’s two-year rule has been marked by deception, broken promises, rising debt, increased taxation, and relentless financial hardship for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
