Book Unveiled Chronicling YS Jagan’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra

Amaravati: A book on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's Praja Sankalpa Yatra was launched on Monday. The book titled 'Jaya Ho- From Idupulapaya To Icchapuram' was about the historical Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the mass outreach programme he had undertaken before the elections.

The book launch was held at the CM's Camp Office in Tadepalli, where senior journalist and The Print Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta unveiled the book. Senior journalist and former editorial director of Sakshi Media Group K Ramachandra Murthy compiled the book which was published by EMESCO Publishers.

The book chronicles the various important events during YS Jagan's 14-month Padayatra across the State. The book was designed with photographs from different timelines of the 3,648 KM long walkathon. The event was attended by the YS Jagan, Shekhar Gupta, K Ramachandra Murthy, YSRCP leaders and senior journalists and photojournalists.

Speaking on the occasion, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that it was not an easy task to embark on the Praja Sankalpa Padayatra. It was an experience that still gave me goose bumps about how I accomplished walking those 3,648 Kms. However, this could only be achieved with the cooperation of the public. The CM recalled that he had met many people during the journey for 14 months and heard their problems. He had vowed to resolve their problems and as a result of their belief in him and garnered over 50 percent popular vote in the elections. He made it clear that he was working for the people's mandate and would not fail their trust that they have towards him. He thanked the author and the publishers for designing the book about his Padayatra.

Speaking on the occasion after unveiling the book, Shekhar Gupta said that YS Jagan created history through his Padayatra. He said that YS Jagan was imbibing the legacy and mandate set forth by his father late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He also fondly recalled the special affiliation he had with his father. He also reminded that the trends have changed and now regional parties are stronger than national parties in the country are. YS Jagan's leadership is in demand by the people of the State, he said.

Speaking at the event, the author K Ramachandra Murthy said, "In his career spanning four and a half decades in journalism, the greatest satisfaction he felt was with this experience while compiling the book on YS Jagan's Padayatra."
