Betrayal Day, a grand success

Public ire reflected in the protest

Tadepalli, June 4: Terming the Betrayal Day as a grand success which reflects the ire of the people who felt cheated as none of the poll promises were implemented by the coalition government, YSRCP said anti-incumbency has set in much earlier YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been with the people throughout.

Speaking to media here on Wednesday, Party State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said despite the police restrictions the Betrayal Day was a grand success with people voicing their dissent in unison as the election promises were not fulfilled by Chandrababu Naidu and drew a contrast with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy term where 99 per cent of the promises were delivered on the dot.
People felt cheated as the existing schemes were stopped and the promised ones were not rolled out and this has a clear reflection in success of Betrayal Day, he said adding that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy even in opposition was always with the people while Chandrababu away from the people and the State between 2019-24.

The contrast is tangible and this protest is only a mild reminder and in the coming days the groundswell of support to YSRCP in highlighting people’s issues will spell doom to TDP. Health, medical and agriculture sector are being neglected by the coalition and during electioneering TDP has given assurance in writing about the welfare schemes he would be implemented.

As is his wont, Chandrababu Naidu has downsized the number of beneficiaries drastically but has been boasting that he has increased the pension amount. A glimpse at the ration shops will show the poor quality of governance as physically challenged and aged people are standing in queue to get ration after doing away with the door delivery system implemented by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The loan component has been over Rs 1.51 lakh crore and there is no accountability while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has transferred amount through DBT and the ire of beneficiaries who were left in the lurch have raised their voice to make the Betrayal Day a success, he said.
The police tried to restrict the movements and even went to the extent of telling how conduct the protest but the people and their ire was vented during the protest, he said.
YSRCP as a responsible opposition party will always be with the people and the anti-incumbency is fast spiralling and in the days to come TDP will feel the brunt. The protest is to show how people were cheated by the  government.
