YSRCP stand by the displaced

People of several villages in Anakapalle mandal like Rajupalem, Valluru, Erukavanipalem, and Gorlevanipalem, who face displacement by the Logistics Hub coming up in the area, met YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at Nookalamma temple in Anakapalle and alleged that land acquisition was being done in an undemocratic manner. They also told him that the government did not spell out how much would be the compensation and the payment process.
“Prohibitory orders were imposed in our villages and several were booked under false cases,” they alleged.
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said that his party would stand by the villagers and take up the issue in the Assembly.
He said that the government was acquiring lands in an undemocratic manner everywhere. “The government claims that land is being acquired with the consent of farmers. But the fact is that the farmers are being harassed, lathi-charged, and coerced into parting with their land,” Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said. He demanded that an industry or institution to which land was allotted be allowed to function only after the displaced persons were totally satisfied and their demands met.
