*Raise age limit to 32 years in police job notification*

Tadepalli, Sept 16:Former MP and YSRCP spokesperson Gorantla Madhav demanded that the TDP coalition government revise the recent police recruitment notification and raise the upper age limit to 32 years. He said thousands of aspirants had lost valuable years waiting for police job notifications and should not be denied an opportunity because they had crossed the existing age limit.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office, Madhav urged the government to grant suitable age relaxation to all eligible categories. He said the relaxations provided in other states should be studied before issuing the revised notification. He condemned the filing of bind-over cases against unemployed youth protesting for jobs and said questioning the government was their democratic right.
Madhav also demanded complete clarity on the recruitment and passing-out of police constables. He said the notification had been issued during the previous YSRCP government and sought details of the stages completed and the present status. The government must also disclose the progress of SI recruitment and maintain transparency in filling nearly 6,100 police posts.
He accused Chandrababu Naidu of betraying unemployed youth after promising 20 lakh jobs and a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000. Madhav also questioned Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s silence over the age-limit issue. He demanded a revised police notification, a clear job calendar and immediate talks with protesting aspirants.
