*Group-I, Group-II aspirants seek age-limit increase to 47 years*

Tadepalli, Sept 17: Unemployed aspirants urged former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to press the State Government to raise the upper age limit for Group-I and Group-II recruitments to 47 years.

The aspirants met YS Jagan at the YSRCP Central Office on Thursday under the leadership of YSRCP Students’ Wing State Working President A. Ravichandra and submitted a representation.

They said the government had increased the age limit only from 42 to 44 years under the Phase-II job calendar. The limited relaxation would deny opportunities to thousands of aspirants who had crossed the age limit due to the lack of regular notifications.

They pointed out that only a few Group-I, Group-II and DSC notifications were issued between 2018 and 2026. They requested a one-time relaxation up to 47 years for the present job calendar, citing similar relaxations granted in Telangana.

They also recalled that TDP leaders and Graduate MLCs had earlier demanded an age limit of 47 years when the retirement age of government employees was increased.

YS Jagan assured the aspirants that he would examine the issue and raise it appropriately.
