*Government jobs put on sale under Chandrababu: Salam Babu*

Tadepalli, Sept 16: YSRCP State Youth Empowerment Wing Convenor and former APPSC Board Member Salam Babu accused the Chandrababu Naidu government of turning public recruitment into a political marketplace. Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office, he said merit had been pushed aside and the dreams of lakhs of unemployed youth were being sacrificed to benefit those close to the TDP party

“Even before the allegations surrounding the DSC recruitment have been answered, the government is preparing to appoint Veterinary Assistant Surgeons without a written examination. Why is a 2016 Government Order being used now to bypass a transparent selection process?” he asked. When Odisha, Punjab, Telangana and Mizoram conduct written examinations for similar posts, Andhra Pradesh cannot abandon merit and accountability, he said. He demanded that the APPSC conduct a written examination and make appointments strictly according to merit.

Salam Babu accused the government of following convenient and contradictory rules. It says no examination is required for DSC sports quota appointments but insists on written tests for police recruitment. “One rule for one recruitment and another rule for another exposes the government’s hidden agenda. This is not recruitment; it is political distribution of jobs,” he said. He alleged that unemployed youth, student leaders and coaching centre representatives were being intimidated with police cases for questioning the DSC irregularities.

“If the DSC process and other recruitments are clean, why is Chandrababu running away from a CBI investigation?” Salam Babu asked. He challenged the government to face an impartial probe and prove its claims of transparency. He demanded an immediate written examination for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon posts, merit-based recruitment through the APPSC and a CBI inquiry into all alleged DSC irregularities.
