Hyderabad, October 1, 2013: YSR Congress has chalked out a month long mass contact programme beginning on Gandhi Jayanthi till the State formation Day on November 1 with its demand of keeping the State united.
“We will begin the programme with a day’s fast on October 2 by leaders of our Party in 175 assembly constituencies spread over 13 districts and will culminate with all panchayats holding a meeting and passing resolution to keep the state united,” Party leader Konathla Ramakrishna told reporters here on Tuesday.
The decision to chalk out the action programme was taken in the extended executive meeting of our Party and our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will lead the mass contact programme.
“We also call upon the supporters of a united state to extend their support to our programme and also to the Samaikhya Sankharavam public meeting which we are going to organise in the city on 19 October as announced by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said.
The venue of the public meeting was selected as it would be convenient of all to attend and it is the right of every political party to organize a public meeting at any place of their choice, he said.
As part of the month-long programme on October 7 our cadre will reach out to leaders of all political parties who did not resign and ask them to mount pressure on their respective leadership to demand for a special assembly session to pass a resolution against the division of the state.
Our Party cadre will visit the houses of all Congress and TDP MLAs and request them to demand for a special assembly session and quit after the resolution is passed.
The program also includes mandal level Rythu deeksha on October 10, auto and rickshaw rally on October 17, a women’s rally on October 21, motorcycle rally on October 24 in all assembly constituencies.
On October 26 sarpanches and YSRCP followers will hold dharna at district headquarters and on October 29th a rally by students and youth would be taken up demanding a united state.
On November 1, all gram panchayats would pass a resolution in favour of a united state and in between a public meeting would be held in city as announced by our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“We request all like-minded people, cutting across party lines, to extend support to the rally and our month long programme,” he said.
He refused to comment on the controversial remarks of Lok Sabha member Sabbam Hari and said that there are no motives behind the Party President’s comments on Narender Modi. He appreciated Modi’s administrative skills and at the same time made it clear that he is committed to secularism and wanted all political parties to be brought on to a secular plank.
