Buddha Venkanna's brother joins YSRCP

Amaravati: As the general elections get closer, massive defections from the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) continue. In a jolt to the TDP, a senior leader joined the party in the presence of Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

On Tuesday, Buddha Nageswara Rao, brother of TDP leader and government Whip Buddha Venkanna, joined the YSRCP in Ichchapuram, where YS Jagan is on the last stage of his padayatra. Speaking to media on the occasion, he said the Backward Classes (BCs) would benefit from YS Jagan's leadership.

"Buddha Venkanna never fought for the rights of BCs. Many other TDP leaders are planning to join the YSRCP. It may be recalled that the BCs were benefited to a great deal during the rule of late Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy," he added.

Buddha Nageswara Rao further said that YS Jagan would bring about a BC sub-plan in the State. The BCs would get greater representation in Legislative bodies, he observed.
