YSR Congress party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana alleged that the TDP leaders carried out illegal mining in Guntur district with the support of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Police arrested Botsa and YSR Congress MLAs - Mustafa and L Apprireddy when they were moving towards Gurajala to join a dharna conducted against illegal mining. The arrested leaders were shifted to Duggirala police station. However, they were released after the party workers staged big dharna before the police station.
Speaking to newsmen, the YSR Congress leader said that more than 28 lakh tonnes of lime stone was illegally mined and crores of rupees went into the pockets of TDP leaders. Botsa ridiculed the cases filed against TDP MLA Yarapatineni's workers on the pretext of indulging in Rs 63 crore mining scam. The TDP MLA is trying to escape from the illegal mining cases .
Botsa also took strong exception for not allowing the YSR Congress leaders to visit the mines citing law and order problem. He never experienced such incidents during his term as minister and also MP in the previous years in united Andhra Pradesh.
