Pothangal Kalan (Nizamabad dist), Jan 8: Rounding off the Paramarsa Yatra, expressing gratitude for the affectionate response shown by the people in all the districts, Sharmila has said that YSR still remains in the hearts of the people through the welfare schemes he has unrolled which benefitted all sections of the people. ‘YSR is remembered by the multitude of people as his welfare schemes benefitted all sections and his leadership qualities were lauded as he looked beyond regional and political affiliations which made him leader of masses.
This affection resulted in the death of 750 members on hearing the news of his sudden death and our family had sworn to visit and console every family which lost a person on hearing the sad news of YSR’s death,’ Sharmila said at Pothangal Kalan village in Gangadhara mandal, Yellareddy constituency of Nizamabad dist, after completing her Paramarsa Yatra.
YSR has redefined leadership qualities, as he took care of the people like a father takes care of his children and extending welfare schemes to all sections of people looking beyond regional and political levels which were the main reason for people adoring him immensely.
He will live forever in the hearts of the people of all the 23 districts for ever as he could be seen in the agriculture produce which became bounty due to the free power he has given, he has breathed a new lease of life into the houses of the downtrodden by bringing quality medicare within the reach of common man and students have immensely benefitted with the fees reimbursement scheme. He created a record in housing by allocating 48 lakh houses, his Jalayaganam has rolled a green carpet in over 25 lakh acres, he was in the forefront of land distribution, she said.
Immediately after the death of our father and on hearing the news of so many deaths, our family wanted to console them and our brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to undertake Odarpu Yatra but the Congress biggies did not allow us to keep up our promise. Congress joined with TDP and foisted false cases and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was put jail for 16 months, but we were undeterred and our resolve to carry out the Yatra had further strengthened.
‘Today we completed the Yatra and he last Paramarsa and I thank all those who were instrumental in making this programme a success. We received a good response and our family thanks everyone for the response,’ she said. She unveiled the statue of YS Rajasekhar Reddy and a pylon with the names of all the 750 persons who died on hearing the sad news of demise of their beloved leader.
