Rentapalla (Palnadu), June 18: Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly criticised the horrific situation prevailing in the State with Chandrababu Naidu and his government are targeting political adversaries and trying to scare them with false cases and imprisonment but warned that days would not be the same all the wrong doers would have to pay a heavy price.
Speaking to media after consoling the family members of Nagamalleswara Rao and unveiling his bust after paying tributes, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said Chandarbabu Naidu has been using police to settle political scores and he is responsible for the death of the upa sarpanch who driven to death by suicide and one Laxminarayana, of the same constituency, is battling for life in a hospital as he too attempted to give up life unable to bear the police harassment.
Police and TDP government have built a narrative that people belonging to Kamma community should not be in YSRCP and are specially targeting them, he said and narrated the sequence of events that led to Nagamalleswara Rao, with his father Vekatesh standing besides him. TDP and Jana Sena workers have filed false cases and have been targeting our Party cadre, he said.
Nagamalleswara Rao was picked up by police one day before the counting and was threatened, insulted and beaten up and when the results came he was again summoned to the station and scared him. Unable to bear the humiliation, he went to Guntur and told how he was harassed by police to his father before consuming pesticide. The father rushed to Guntur and rushed his son to hospital where he succumbed.
A private complaint lodged by Venkatesh was not being pursued despite court orders, he said and warned all the erring officials that YSRCP will bounce back to power and these people will have to pay a price for misusing power. He stands as a live example of police atrocities, YS Jagan said.
A similar case happened with Lakshminarayan, who hails from Kamma community, being harassed by police using castiest remarks and he too has consumed pesticide and is still in hospital fighting for life. Chandrababu Naidu is responsible for these incidents and Red book constitution is being implemented in the State putting the people on a leash of terror.
He listed out the names of YSRCP leaders who hail from Kamma community and are being targeted starting from Vallabhaneni Vamsi, to Kodali Nani, Devineni Avinash, Talasila Raghuram, MVV Satyanarayana, Abbaya Chowdary, Brahma Naidu, Posani Krishna Murali, social media activists among others.
After coalition government took over, there is neither development nor welfare but only using police to harass YSRCP cadre and leaders. Chandrababu along with his friendly media have been plundering the state and doling out false impression while in reality the situation has been alarming with police dancing to the tunes of political bosses.
All days will not be the same and times will change in our favour and justice will be done and all erring people will be brought to book, he said.
