Coalition govt. undermining Sanathana Dharma

Tirupati, June 20: Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said that great harm has been done at Tirumala temple by an arrogant official trying to stall the rendering of Vedic hymns by pundits.
Speaking to media here on Friday, he said, while Vedic scholars whose main vocation is to recite Vedic hymns are being discouraged by an official of TTD and they are being insulted and the Sanathana Dharma is under threat by the authorities.
The age-old tradition of rendering Vedic hymns is being punctured by the official who has been time and again telling that the short form of the hymns can be sloganeered instead of the long hymns which is difficult for the people to understand.
This is a slur to Sanathana Dharma and all those who are for upholding the tradition should come together and fight for the cause as coalition government is breaking the traditions and trying to create new ones and are insulting Vedic scholars.
The tradition of reciting Vedas has been coming from a long time and TTD runs Vedic schools while this official is trying to demean Sanathana Dharma, he said.
YSR has set up Veda University, and YSRCP government has created 700 posts for Vedic rendering and what happened to the posts is not known, he said.
