Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday said that the women were not safe in Chandrababu Naidu regime. Addressing a meeting of women at Dhaniyani Cheruvu village in Anantapur district on the Day 44 of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he said that the Chief Minister was supporting those who stripped a Dalit woman in Visakhapatnam's Pendurthi. Recalling that there were no arrests either in Rishiteshwari case or in MRO Vanajakshi case. He said the Government was busy protecting those who were perpetrating atrocities on women.
Recalling that Chandrababu had reneged on every promise he made to various sections, including women, during the elections. "During my father's time, there was an educational revolution. Even the poorest of the poor could afford higher education thanks to the fee reimbursement. But, now the same scheme has been watered down," he said.
YS Jagan said that when YSRCP comes to power, the Government would ensure that the fee is fully reimbursed. In addition, an additional Rs 20000 would be given to the students to support their other expenses. Similarly, mothers sending their wards to schools, would be paid Rs 15000 per year. Explaining his YSRC Cheyutha scheme, he said that the pensionable age would be brought from 65 years to 45 years. YS Jagan also explained about his Nava Ratnalu.
He said Chandrababu Naidu rule has become a byword for corruption. He said no one was happy in the state after Chandrababu Naidu took over as the chief minister. "Chandrababu Naidu has done nothing for the people of the state during the last four years of his rule. The YSRCP has announced Navaratnalu with a view to bring smiles back on the face of the people of the state," he said.
