Chilakaluripeta, June 24,
2013: YSR Congress honourary president Smt. Y.S.Vijayamma on Monday accused
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy of hobnobbing with the Centre to keep party
chief Sri Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy in jail till November.
Addressing the YSRCP
regional meet of Guntur and Prakasam district units on the forthcoming
Panchayat Polls, she said Kiran has been conspiring to ensure that Sri Jagan
Mohan Reddy would not come out of the jail till November.
Kiran reportedly told
the Centre that he would bring victory to the Congress in the forthcoming
elections if the YSRCP chief was kept in the jail till November at least, she
said, asking the people to defeat the politics of conspiracy by Congress and
TDP.
“Win more Panchayats as
a gift to Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP flags should fly on the
Panchayat offices across the state proudly,” she told the gathering of party
leaders from Guntur and Prakasam districts.
She said YSRCP has good
popularity among the people but party leaders and activists should move closer
to them by taking up their cause. “Work for people and win majority Panchayats
so that it will be a fitting lesson to both Congress and TDP,” Smt. Vijayamma
said.
Decrying the undue
delay in conducting the local polls, she charged the Government of taking the
life out of villages and hampering developments works. “With nothing moving on
in the villages and Grama Sabhas being neglected, most of the villages are
going even without drinking water,”
Lamenting that the
villages are denied central funds and minimum facilities due to the delay in
local body polls, Smt. Vijayamma said anti-people rule is in force in the
state. Saying that the Government had conducted the co-op society polls in the
most undemocratic manner, she asked the party rank and file to be vigilant of
possible illegalities by Congress and TDP in the Panchayat polls too.
“We will not allow the Government to resort to
illegalities in reservations this time and if necessary, we will approach
courts of law,” she warned.
Smt. Vijayamma asked the party leaders and activists
to take the Panchayat polls seriously and win majority seats to serve people.
“The party and YSR family will always stand by people and party activists.”
