Pamaru, March 28: YSRCP demanded that police release CCTV footage of the Pamaru police station to prove their claims in the case involving nursing student Jujjuvarapu Supriya, stating that issuing notes cannot justify alleged lapses.
Speaking to the media, former Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) and party spokesperson Kale Anil Kumar said that false cases, including attempt to murder, were filed against Supriya and she was remanded without proper evidence. They questioned why police have not released video footage if they claim she attacked personnel or if her brother was involved in theft.
Nani asserted that if the police version is proven true through footage, he is ready to apologise, but insisted that all CCTV visuals from March 21 be made public within 24 hours. He alleged that police were trying to intimidate a vulnerable family by creating false evidence.
Kale Anil Kumar said YSRCP will stand by Supriya’s family until justice is delivered and warned that the matter would be taken to the National Human Rights Commission if no action is taken. He also accused local authorities of allowing illegal activities like gambling in the constituency with political and police patronage.
