Tadepalli, June 29: YSRCP Legal Cell State President Malasani Manohar Reddy strongly condemned the remarks made by TDP former MLA J.C. Prabhakar Reddy against advocates, stating that the coalition government's "Red Book Constitution" has revived a culture of intimidation and lawlessness in Rayalaseema. Addressing the media, he said J.C. Prabhakar Reddy had consistently used abusive language, encouraged violence, and targeted not only YSRCP leaders but also senior police officers, journalists, and now members of the legal fraternity.
Manohar Reddy said advocates had merely addressed a press conference expressing concern over J.C. Prabhakar Reddy's conduct, but instead of responding to their questions, he resorted to abusive language and personal attacks against lawyers. He reminded that it was lawyers who had secured bail for J.C. Prabhakar Reddy in nearly 90 criminal cases, making his comments against the legal fraternity both unacceptable and disrespectful.
He stated that nothing happens in Tadipatri without J.C. Prabhakar Reddy's knowledge and recalled incidents where police vehicles were attacked and court orders were openly defied. He said even former MLA Kethireddy Peddareddy was prevented from entering his constituency for months despite obtaining court permission, reflecting complete disregard for the judiciary.
Manohar Reddy questioned the silence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP leadership over the abuse directed at advocates, saying that remaining silent amounted to endorsing such conduct. He asserted that silencing lawyers was equivalent to silencing democracy itself, as the legal fraternity would continue to stand with victims of land grabbing, violence, and abuse of power.
He also reminded J.C. Prabhakar Reddy of his own earlier statement acknowledging that he became Municipal Chairman only because Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy upheld democratic values, and asked whether that respect for democracy had disappeared after coming to power.
