Tadepalli, Feb 13: YSRCP Arya Vysya Leaders urged the TDP-led coalition government to immediately stop the growing harassment of traders and business families. The meeting was held at the party’s central office. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Former minister Vellampalli Srinivas, former MLA Anna Rambabu, PAC member Gubba Chandrasekhar, Repala Srinivas, Kuppam Prasad, former TTD member Prasad, Gangishetti Sridhar, Vidyadhara Rao, Sai Bala Padma, Sambasiva Rao, Karunakar and others took part.
The leaders expressed concern that after the change in government, complaints of discrimination against Arya Vysyas had increased. They said small and medium traders were facing frequent inspections, heavy penalties and delays in licences, creating fear in the business community at a time when it needed support.
They recalled that during the tenure of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, welfare schemes such as EBC Nestam had provided direct financial assistance to women from economically weaker sections, helping many families become stable. In contrast, they felt the present system was not ensuring equal access to benefits and adequate political representation in nominated posts and committees.
The leaders strongly objected to the cancellation of earlier land allotments for Arya Vysya satrams at Srisailam. They also said the government itself should take responsibility for installing the statue of Potti Sriramulu instead of collecting donations from the community.
They demanded an immediate halt to harassment, fair implementation of welfare schemes, restoration of the cancelled GO, proper priority in positions, and direct government action on the statue. They said the government must respond quickly and address these legitimate concerns.
